We Support the Staff Who Work Directly with Students
We want to be very clear about where we stand.
Andro Alliance supports the staff who have direct, daily interaction with students. This includes:
• Classroom Teachers — the professionals who educate our children every day.
• Bus Drivers — who safely transport students to and from school.
• Sports and Fitness Coaches (Football, Soccer, Basketball, Baseball, Lacrosse, and others) — who provide important physical education, teamwork, and character development.
• Front Office Staff — who regularly interact with and support students throughout the school day.
These are essential roles that directly impact the lives of our students. We believe they deserve fair compensation and strong support.
However, since 2010, MSAD 52 has dramatically increased spending on non-teaching administrative and coaching positions that do not have direct interaction with students. One of the clearest examples is the district’s spending on Instructional Coaches, which now exceeds $500,000 per year — with little to no measurable improvement in student outcomes.
At the same time, major contracts that are not required by the state continue to be approved with little to no meaningful negotiation. This pattern has contributed to hundreds of thousands of dollars in unnecessary costs over time.
This is not a criticism of teachers, bus drivers, sports coaches, or front office staff. It is a criticism of school board leadership that has allowed spending to grow significantly in non-essential administrative areas while failing to properly prioritize resources for the staff who actually work directly with students.
Our position is simple:
• We support fair pay and strong resources for classroom teachers, bus drivers, sports coaches, and front office staff.
• We oppose the unchecked growth of non-teaching administrative positions that do not directly serve students.
• We believe the school board has failed to properly negotiate contracts and control spending on positions that provide little direct benefit to students.
